The Central Library in Liverpool, originally built in the 1860's with expansions in 1879 and 1906, has been extensively remodelled starting in 2010, reopening to the public in 2013.
Standing on the pavement looking up the building you would be forgiven for thinking the inside of the building would reflect the Victorian architecture and design - however, you would be mistaken! Inside the library is a bit like an Escher drawing with stairs criss-crossing each other towards a curved wood and glass dome. It is open, fresh and exciting.

The Liverpool Central Library is my favorite place to explore since it is allowing me to read plenty of fascinating books. This library is a very fascinating combination of the old classical and modern books.
