Woodland stream design and management plan
A lovely part of a larger garden; an old mill stream winds through the property and offers amazing potential opportunities for informal play and discovery. The site is currently overgrown with nettles and the significant tree/scrub vegetation hasn't been managed in a number of years.
Our clients are looking to improve the views towards the stream from the balcony terrace and create areas for informal play as well as reducing the current maintenance burden. Using the stream and its associated landscaping at Bodnant Garden NT as inspiration, we are proposing to formalise sections of the stream bank with reclaimed stones already on site, lift the canopies of the trees and clear the unwanted nettles and brambles, and introduce a winding main path with secondary paths to new simple timber stream crossings.
The management plan aims to provide clear and straightforward advice for our clients to continue to maintain this excellent wildlife habitat, whilst also enjoying use of it themselves.
